Instagram's first photo was of this puppy

20 hrs.

From an old-timey looking?picture of a puppy to a $1 billion buyout by Facebook, Instagram's come a long way from its first photo upload on July 16, 2010. The free photo-sharing program, originally called Codename, when public three months later, in October, recalls an Instagram blog post commemorating the anniversary.?

Now, "1 year and 9 months later, over 50 million people have shared more than 1 billion photos on Instagram," the post continues. "We?re humbled by the amazing photos shared every day on Instagram and the incredible community that?s formed around the application."?

That's a lot of pictures of food people are fixing to eat, along with everything else we now upload, with a vintage feel.?

Helen A.S. Popkin goes blah blah blah about the Internet. Tell her to get a real job? on? Twitter and/or Facebook. Also, Google+.
